Good evening. A double minded man is unstable in all that he does. (James 1.8)

Pretending to be someone that we’re not based on who’s around at the moment is a result of us lying to ourselves in that moment.

There is no award and no accomplishment worth straying away from who God has called us to be. Recognition, fame, etc is and has NEVER been about us. It’s always been about bringing Glory to God. When we get this twisted, we start to fumble. We start to lose sight and lose focus. Not because situations change or worsen but because we try to balance 2 or 3 personalities in one body. Why?

The person God created you to be is good enough for the world solely because you’re good enough for God. He is the perfect creator of all things, so there’s swagger in your very existence. Just be you. One person, at all times.

Peace – Kimberly

Are you positively contributing just as much time, energy, and effort into this world as you're capable of contributing? If not, then what's the hold up? Why aren't you making things happen now – in the moment in which you are mobile, living, and able to do so. John 9:4 (Amplified Bible) says, 'We must work the works of Him Who sent Me and be busy with His business while it is daylight; night is coming on, when NO man can work." Let's roll!

Peace – Kimberly

Pressing on Toward the Goal – Philiphians 3:12- 16 (The Word)

“I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.

So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it.”…Paul

Good morning. The last couple of days have been interesting. For starters, on Wednesday, I sent out, what I thought, was a very nicely written Thanksgiving message to my professional circle. Don’t get me wrong, it was well received, but you would not believe how many replies I received, all saying the same thing. “That was the most politically correct message ever written.” I laughed and laughed until I couldn’t laugh any more. I asked a couple of people why did they make that statement and every single one of them said that saved or unsaved, believer or non believer, whoever read it would immediately believe long enough to know that there is a God that deserves our thanks. While I was flattered that my “simple” message had such an impact, I could not help but to think about a statement that Bishop Barnes once said, “How can there be a separation of church and state if I’m still here? I don’t have to always speak my fathers name in order to show you who my Father is.” Wow! Thanks again, Bishop! I shared that to say this, we (Christians) don’t have to have “I believe in God” tattooed on our foreheads in order to believe or to inspire someone else to believe. Nothing else should display our faith more than our daily conversation; our daily walk.

Switching gears to my next point. Before anyone else ask, yes I LOVE T.I. & Rhianna’s “Live Your Life” song so much that I quoted from it in my previous blog. Its a legit song, with a legit message, and I like it. For those that asked what the lyrics mean, in layman’s terms, here you go!

Original Lyrics:

“I’m the opposite of moderate, immaculately polished with the spirit of a hustler and the swagger of a college kid. Allergic to the counterfeit, impartial to the politics. Articulate but still would grab you by the collar quick.”…T.I.

What I Hear:

“I’m not your average person but I’m well put together. I’m always working hard, and though I may not be experienced to your taste… I get things done, and I’m as free and swift as those half my age. I can’t live with anything less than what’s real (truth), and I don’t do politics. Though I am professional and well mannered, I will still put up a fight.”

See…I told you these were some well versed lyrics.

Last thing. Hip Hop music (true hip hop music) will forever be in the center of controversy, but it shouldn’t have to be. Before you start bobbing your head by listening to the music only or before you totally dismiss a song, take time to listen and think through the lyrics. You’d be surprised of what you may find, and then you too may suddenly be inspired to just “Live Your Life!!” Remember this, the core of any lyrical song isn’t its arrangement of music; its the message spoken by the lyrics. Everything else only compliments this. Take lyrical, praise and worship songs for instance. The melodies are naturally calming to the spirit, but what really gets the spirit moving are the sweet words of praise and adoration for God – the “spoken” Word.

One quick story or testimony. When I first became saved, I quickly cleaned out my music library to only contain Christian music. BIG MISTAKE FOR “ME”. Hang on now, I said for “me”! Music (of all genres) was what motivated me to have my own mind and seek for myself. Music is what ushered me into the crave of wanting to know more about the Christian faith for myself and not continue to go on what my parents, peers, and everyone else said. So, when I came into the real and true knowledge of Christ, yes my Christian music collection stepped up, but I also looked back, filtered through, and picked back up other types of inspirational music albeit Hip Hop, Rock, or whatever. This was the music that “met me where I was ” and helped to bring me to where I am! It uniquely ministered then and still has the ability to do the same today….It’s all about how open we are to receive.

Peace – Kimberly

K.M. Cooley
…………………………………………………
Sent from my BlackBerry® Smartphone
